You are welcome to bring your own dog. Our hunts are strictly for wild birds. Our goal is to make sure that you enjoy your hunt by giving you the best and safest hunt possible.

Dennis Kavanagh - owner/guide
Dennis has been bird hunting over pointing and flushing dogs for over 40 years. Dennis grew up in Michigan hunting ruffed grouse, woodcock and pheasant. Dennis is a graduate of Michigan Technological University. Dennis has been a licensed Montana outfitting and bird hunting guide since 1982, and a licensed Arizona quail hunting guide since 1994. Currently, Dennis runs English pointers, setters and cockers.
Casey Phelps - head guide
Casey has been guiding for Montana Bird Hunts since 2016. Casey grew up in Idaho and lives in Helena, Montana. Casey runs setters, pointers and German wire-haired pointers. Casey guides fisherman and is also the outfitter of record for The Lodge at Eagle Rock on the Missouri River near Craig, Montana.
Kevin Edwards - guide
Kevin has been guiding for Montana Bird Hunts since 2019. Kevin grew up in California and feels fortunate to have been raised by an outdoor family. Whenever able, he spent his time chasing trout along the banks of the Owens river and hunting valley quail with his springer spaniel. Currently, Kevin works as an upland bird and fly-fishing guide. Kevin lives in Livingston, Montana with a string of five English pointers. He looks forward to exploring the uplands in search of huns, grouse and pheasant for you and yours.
Nolan Huffman - guide
Nolan has been guiding for Montana Bird Hunts since 2011. Nolan grew up in North Carolina and lives in Lewistown, Montana. He has devoted his life to training and working with hunting dogs. Nolan owns and operates Beeline Brittanys. Nolan's formal training dog program is open to all pointing breeds and can be tailored to your desired end result. He trains hunting dogs and NSTRA trial dogs all the way to "steady to wing and shot" or any level in between. Nolan runs Brittanys and pointers.
