Upland Bird Hunts Around Big Timber, Montana
From September thru early October we hunt around Big Timber, Montana. The terrain consists of short and mixed-grass prairie, juniper savanna, sagebrush steppe, mountain foothills, bench lands, coulees and alfalfa fields.
This area has some of the best Hungarian partridge habitat in the state. The Big Timber area also has good sharp-tailed grouse habitat. There is also some incidental hunting for blue (dusky) grouse and ruffed grouse. Expect to walk six to eight miles a day. All the land we hunt in Big Timber is private. |
