I use pointers and setters. My guides use pointers, setters, shorthairs and Brittannys. Our dogs are in the field hunting wild birds from September thru February. Our dogs hunt pheasant, huns, prairie grouse, woodland grouse and quail. Dogs in our line-up are exposed to a variety of birds under varied conditions and habitat. Therefore, in order to find and hold birds they must be able to use their brains as well as their sense of smell. Current members of my dog crew include:
